What we did
A customer contacted us via our Website so we arranged to meet and discuss their ideas for a new rear house extension with toilet.
We recommended our architect who designed the drawings and plan for the build. When everything was agreed we started work. Thatcher Builders liaised with building control throughout the project from start to finish.
To start we dug out and concreted the foundations of the build and then then built up the walls. We then built the roof structure and added insulation to the walls roof and floor with a concrete base and screed the floor.
We built internal walls to fit w/c toilet room under the stairs and supplied and fitted two Velux windows and rear bifold doors with blinds already fitted within the glass.
Next stage was to felt batton and tile the roof with lead flashings. Once water tight we then removed the rear main wall with props supporting the house and fitted the steel works as per the structural drawings.
Next full electrical and plumbing works were carried out to the extension and w/c room.
We then Ditra Matt the floor and tile and grout. We used the Kitchen designer by Benchmarx kitchens through our account which we then installed as per the design.
lastly we prepared and painted the extension and w/c room and then laid the patio slabs to side and rear doors.
All rubbished was cleared by Thatcher Builders and the day after completion we sent out a cleaner to give a final clean and leave the room looking like new.
During Conversion
I contacted Ray Thatcher who came out to my property to discuss my rear kitchen extension project in Bromley. From the beginning he was helpful, informative and very patient. The project started and from the beginning to the end (September 2022) I was given daily updates and the team arrived promptly every day. I had some issues with the water pipes in the garden, but Ray gave expert advice and helped resolve the problem.
Ray is reliable, friendly and extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the building trade, at times it was challenging but Ray helped smooth out the whole process. He has the forward vision, based on years of experience to know how the project will develop and turn out.
In addition Ray has a great team who work alongside him. Jamie is great at laying floor tiles, he also build a larder for me in my kitchen and fitted the kitchen cabinets, Billie painted the kitchen throughout, very tidy and precise, he also tiled my toilet under the stairs and helped with the kitchen cabinets. John plastered internally, very tidy and neat work, George the bricklayer finished the outside and also laid the patio outside and made it look better than before.
Darren and Scott were here throughout the project and helped finish off at the end. They all played their part in completing my extension, which has totally transformed my home. I now have an amazing space which I can totally relax in with friends and family.
Ray is a man of his word and throughout my project he kept his promise to deliver a kitchen extension which I would be happy with.
